Diversity, equity and inclusion

Our training on diversity and inclusion, available for VR, PC and mobile, cover a range of sensitive topics such as gender inclusion, race equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Each of these modules has been designed to help learners in educational or workplace settings to reflect on these subjects and to do their part in creating a more inclusive world.

We believe that, by increasing diversity and inclusion awareness through the safe space of VR, we can make a positive impact on society as a whole – our courses inspire learners to have open and honest conversations about diversity and inclusion.

VR is the perfect platform for inclusion and diversity training because learners can immerse themselves in simulated situations, explore different perspectives and practise empathy in a judgement-free environment. Our goal is to help you create a more inclusive culture in your organisation, where everyone feels valued and respected.

Let’s Talk About Race

Honest conversations about race are long overdue. Recent incidents worldwide have pushed the need for equity and inclusion to the forefront.

With this in mind, we’ve created Let’s Talk About Race, which is the product of an in-depth collaboration between Bodyswaps and a team of subject matter experts from George Brown College in Canada.

The series takes learners on a reflective journey through a collection of experiences that examine the impact that privilege, bias and microaggressions have on all of us.

Course Highlights

  1. Explore the role your own unconscious bias plays in your thoughts and behaviours
  2. Examine the impact of bias in popular media
  3. Learn a four-step strategy for identifying and challenging biased behaviour
  4. Identify microinsults and microinvalidations
  5. Learn strategies for having constructive conversations about racism
  6. Practise challenging others safely and effectively
  7. Discover what intersectionality means in practice
  8. Learn to identify privilege

Reflect on how your own social identity shapes your privilege

Inclusive leadership

The typical team is changing. In the modern world, our teams are increasingly diverse, remote and cross-disciplinary. To sustain high performance and foster wellbeing, leadership culture needs to change too.

This series of three simulations is designed for managers looking to adopt an inclusive leadership style. Learners will discover how to listen and give feedback, as well as how to understand and resolve conflict among their team members.

Course highlights

  1. Recognise the ways in which conflict can arise within a diverse team
  2. Learn how to flag non-inclusive behaviour
  3. Practise relationship-building skills
  4. Identify how managers perpetuate non-inclusive behaviours
  5. Develop techniques to challenge and to self-reflect
  6. Practise giving effective feedback
  7. Understand how a leader’s behaviour can perpetuate inappropriate behaviour
  8. Develop skills to help others address the source of their conflicts

Practise coaching others to lead by example

Gender Inclusion

Challenging non-inclusive behaviours in the workplace involves a set of steps that will help you start important conversations and foster an inclusive work environment on your team.In this module, which Bodyswaps has co-developed with Interact, you will learn to observe and identify a broad range of non-inclusive behaviours and apply effective techniques to challenge them.

Sexual Harassment

We all agree that sexual harassment is wrong. So why are so many people still forced to endure it every single day?

This module, created in collaboration with the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITCILO), was designed to help learners recognise incidents of sexual harassmnet and learn how to intervene in an appropriate way.

"Bodyswaps is an application that allows learners to practice skills that are difficult to replicate in a traditional learning environment. The immersive experience is risk-free, accessible, engaging, and encourages learners to reflect on their own understanding of themselves. It has great potential as an essential learning tool now and in the future."

“When using this with my class, my students found it really thought provoking. It was a great tool to have them open up and interrogate the race-based assumptions they participate in and how to become an ally in a non judgemental, safe environment.”
