Law · Experiential Research Cohort · Spring 2027 Cross-Examination

Control the witness. Land the impeachment. Then stop.

Cross-Examination lets every trial advocacy student practice against cooperative, rambling and hostile AI witnesses, as often as they need, and scores every cross against NITA standards.

Inside Cross-Examination

An assessed baseline. Two harder witnesses. Then a matched endpoint.

Practice moves from a witness who over-explains to an expert who argues every premise. The endpoint is matched to the baseline, so scores compare directly. Built for second and third year JD students in trial advocacy.

Practice

Assessed

Practice, level 2

Jordan Kim

Well-meaning eyewitness

Wrote 'visibility was perfectly clear'. Now says it was hard to see. Adds detail after almost every answer.

Practice, level 3

Alex Mora

Expert witness

Report said 48 hours. Testimony says 72. Calm, condescending, and argues with every premise.

Assessed baseline

Dana Reyes

Cooperative fact witness

Told police 9:15 p.m. Testified 8:45 p.m. today. Gives it up if questioned in the right sequence.

Assessed endpoint

Sam Okafor

Fact witness, traffic collision

Statement at the scene says red. Today he says green. Matched to the baseline.

“You're taking that out of context.”

Alex Mora, the expert witness at level 3. Give him an open question and he will explain the inconsistency away.

Cross-examine an AI witness

Students question witnesses who cooperate, ramble or argue, and who react to every question.

Get coached straight after

An AI Coach debrief after every conversation shows students what worked and what to try next.

Faculty see every attempt

Every assessed conversation is scored against clear criteria, with transcripts and progress for each student.

What faculty see

  • First attempt against latest, criterion by criterion, so you can see the whole class move.
  • Every student's latest grade and how it changed, with nothing averaged away.
  • One click from any grade to the transcript and the feedback the student saw.

Why educators trust Bodyswaps

Built for the conversations that matter, and used by faculty who teach them.

“Bodyswaps has consistently provided a clear way to facilitate learning at scale. Over 200 students enrolled, with automated feedback delivery.”

Is it really free?

Yes. From January to March 2027 there is no cost to your institution. In return we ask for anonymized student data for the cohort research and a short survey at the end.

Does this replace live practice in class?

No. It adds practice between class sessions, so students reach the graded cross-examination with more attempts behind them.

Can faculty change the pathway?

Yes. Cross-Examination is ready to run as built, and faculty can edit the criteria, characters and levels to match their course and rubric.

What data do you share, and how is it used?

Anonymized results feed the cross-institution findings report. Nothing in the report identifies individual students.

How many places are there?

Fifteen, one per course. We confirm every place personally.

What do we get at the end?

Scores, transcripts and AI Coach debriefs for every student, plus the cross-institution findings report with your program named in it.
