About Canterbury Christ Church University
Canterbury Christ Church University is a widening participation institution with campuses across Canterbury, Medway, and Tunbridge Wells. Its nursing and midwifery programmes prepare students from a wide range of backgrounds to meet the professional standards set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Simulation sits at the heart of how those standards get taught. Stephanie Banfield is the lead for nursing and midwifery simulation at the university. Chloe Saygili is a clinical academic specialising in simulation, working across adult, child, and mental health. Between them, they design, build, and run the simulation experiences that take students from the classroom to clinical practice. However, the delivery of simulation is not the work of individuals alone; it is underpinned by a dedicated team of nurses and simulation practitioners who collaboratively design, facilitate, and evaluate learning experiences.
